Why Is Circumcision Important

Many people are not aware of the importance of circumcision in preventing penile cancer, urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted diseases, and cervical cancer.

This guide will give you all the information you need to decide whether or not circumcision is right for your family.

Circumcision According to Islam

Circumcision is called Musalmani in our country. Circumcision, the common surgery for males that has been done since time immemorial and continues to be practiced today, was first observed by Hazrat Ibrahim (AS). This Sunnah of Islam- one of many provisions handed down from prophets throughout history – remains a great obligation among Muslims around the world even after hundreds of years have passed. The significance behind circumcision can never truly be captured or understood without understanding its roots:

Circumcision is the sunnah of all prophets, and it has many benefits.

All the Prophets after Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) were circumcised, including Prophet Isa/Jesus Christ and Muhammad ibn Abdullah al-Mustafa.

Many hadiths encourage observance of this Sunnah as Imam Malik said “A man should be encouraged to have himself circumcised if he has not been already.”

When a boy reaches an age where he can understand its significance for himself or his parents to be consulted on this decision, they should seriously consider getting their son circumcised because there are so many health-related benefits that come with being circumcised which include reduced risk of contracting HIV/AIDS as well as other STDs like HPV (human papillomavirus).

According to Abu Huraira, the five innate human traits – which means natural human traits like circumcision, the use of razors under the navel, plucking of the armpits, trimming the nails, and trimming the mustache.

Pros of being circumcised

The debate over circumcision has been going on for years. Some people say that it’s a necessary procedure and others say that it is not in the best interest of the child. What does science have to say about this? The scientific community weighs in with their opinion below:

-Circumcision helps prevent urinary tract infections, which can cause kidney damage and lead to death.   -Circumcised men are less likely to get HIV from unprotected sex than uncircumcised men are.(1) They also seem less likely to transmit HIV if they do become infected.(2) Circumcised men may be at reduced risk for penile cancer as well.(3) And circumcised males don’t need extra protection against sexually transmitted diseases.
